This is a rugged, authentic Western-style bolo tie featuring natural and sourced materials that give it a distinct frontier aesthetic. The arrowhead is a prehistoric ancient artifact found in San Saba County, Texas.

The Centerpiece (Slide)

The focal point of the tie is a large, hand-knapped projectile point (arrowhead).

  • Origin: According to the description, this piece was recovered in San Saba, Texas, an area known for significant Native American artifacts.
  • Material & Appearance: The stone appears to be a type of chert or flint with a waxy luster. It is a translucent, smoky brown-to-grey color.
  • Form: It shows obvious signs of being hand-worked (knapped), with distinct flake scars along the edges and surface. The shape is somewhat asymmetrical and rugged, rather than perfectly symmetrical, adding to its authentic, unearthed character.

The Cord and Tips

  • Cord: The slide is mounted on a thick, braided leather cord that is tan or light brown in color.
  • Tips: Instead of traditional silver or ornamental tips, the ends of the leather cord are fitted with expended 223 brass rifle cartridge casings.
