Barrett's Story ~ A Custom Design Bolo Tie began with one of our earliest in-person customer connections. Barrett met Michael while Mike's Custom Bolos was set up outside a local shop and immediately connected with an Ancient Artifact Bolo Tie featuring an authentic prehistoric stone arrowhead from San Saba County, Texas. The stone had the rugged, substantial character he wanted, and Barrett made the design his own by choosing spent bullet casing tips and requesting a longer leather cord to better fit his tall frame.

The finished bolo tie became a one-of-a-kind blend of ancient Texas history and frontier heritage. Each prehistoric artifact is naturally unique, with hand-knapped edges and individual stone characteristics that cannot be duplicated. Paired with braided leather and spent bullet casing tips, Barrett's piece became a wearable piece of history built specifically around his style.

Then the real Story began. Barrett had already paid $150 for his custom bolo tie, but incorrect contact information in the system made him nearly impossible to locate for delivery. For approximately nine months, we kept searching and thinking of new ways to find him because walking away from the order was never an option. We were determined to either successfully deliver Barrett's bolo tie or make the situation right. Eventually, we found him, completed the delivery, and were grateful to learn that he was still happy with both his bolo tie and Mike's Custom Bolos.

Barrett is local farm-and-ranch country folk, and he and Michael got along from the start. What began as a sale became another reminder of why we do what we do. Mike's Custom Bolos makes friends and memories, not just bolo ties, and Barrett's Story is one we will always remember.
